Don't take your laptop to London.

Published on: 22/06/2006

In a recent news article it was claimed that nearly 5,000 laptops were left in London taxis last year. The clever people who supplied these statistics claim that the average intellectual property value of a laptop is £550,000. That's £2,750,000,000 total value ... approximately the same as the GDP of Liberia. Now just add in the value of the umbrellas lost in the back of London Taxis and ... enough already.

There are a number of solutions to this problem;

  1. Secure your laptop with biometrics (as suggested by the kind people who generated the statistics)
  2. Don't take your laptop to London
  3. Don't take a cab, walk instead
  4. Don't go to London

Take your pick.
