Webree sponsors Best Bar None Scheme for Portsmouth
Webree are proud sponsors of the Best Bar None scheme for Portsmouth. We were approached by Portsmouth City Council to provide a website that promotes this excellent scheme.
The Scheme:
The Best Bar None scheme is an awards scheme for licensed premises, currently running in over 80 locations across the UK. The purpose of the scheme is to address alcohol related crime and improve the night time environment.
Best Bar None is recommended by the Home Office as a Best Practice Scheme and is managed by the British Institute of Innkeeping. Areas where the scheme has been implemented have seen a dramatic fall in alcohol related crime and disorder.
The Launch:
Portsmouth’s Best Bar None scheme will be launched on the 16th March, where Local licensees can hear from speakers David Williams (Chief Executive of Portsmouth City Council and Chief Inspector James Fulton (Hampshire Constabulary).
The Assessment:
Applicants undergo an in-depth assessment of their premises, with approved licensees being able to display the Best Bar None signage in their premises. The top five premises in each category are then put through to the finals for the Judging Panel to determine the Best in their categories.
The Awards Ceremony:
The scheme culminates in a prestigious awards ceremony in June, where the winners of each category and the Overall Best Bar None will be announced.
