Since its initial concept, the Team at UVN and webree have been working closely to develop a new way for Charities and Volunteers to come together - called "The Volunteer App". Based on the practical experience and requirements of charity practitioners, including CEOs, Volunteer Managers, Project Managers - and volunteers themselves, this new service has been developed to;
- Reduce costs of volunteer management
- Improve auditability
- Improve communications between volunteers
- Reach a younger demographic
- Share resources and lessons learnt
... fulfilling the need to engage volunteers, especially of a younger demographic. The Volunteer App will provide countless Volunteers with an exciting, easy-to-use, all-in-one place means of finding and volunteering for roles in their area.
It also delivers the Charities requirement to plan and document their project work / volunteering, so that Volunteers can fully engage in a secure, fully auditable manner.
The service will be available to all registered and active UK-based Charities, via a secure web portal. This portal will also provide access to volunteers, though the accompanying mobile (Android) App is likely to be the favoured method for young volunteers to engage with available roles.
Jennie Brent, former trustee of the Beneficial Foundation and founder of Portsmouth's own Just Your Journey has been instrumental in guiding aspects of the system, working with other charity practitioners. She is rightly proud and incredibly excited about The Volunteer App and the potential it has for people of all generations.
UVN have managed to do some remarkable things using the No Code platform XPOR - from importing an entire database of UK based Charities (using our built-in data importer) to creating the highest quality, customised authentication system, using our very own XFLOWs.
As the Alpha version passes through testing, it is likely that the service will integrate DBS checks - and management.
The founders of UVN, James and Johnathan, have developed the majority of this system in their spare time (!), using the XPOR platform, whilst they live hundreds of miles apart. Webree has supported this work and extended it to the provision of the mobile App.
James said "We are looking forward to delivering The Volunteer App service to the wider UK base of charities, following successful completion of the Alpha testing period. We know how important it is that the service is easy to use and effective, whilst being fully secure. So the Alpha testing period will tie these things off."
Johnathan added, "We are so grateful for the support and guidance of Jennie, including the involvement of her charity-based experts. Fantastic knowledge and up-to-date pragmatic experience that our users will benefit from at their first use of he Volunteer App - we are looking forward to what the future brings!"
